Refund policy
We want you to love your gift or subscription box as much as we do so please drop us an email if you’ve got any questions about your order.
If you change your mind about your purchase, get in touch within 14 days of receiving your item to arrange return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need your receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, get in touch with us at info@paperbackdown.com and we’ll send you instructions on how to go about returning your order.
Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalised items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method, minus any shipping costs incurred
Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at info@paperbackdown.com
Shipping Costs
You are responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning any item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. We recommend that returns are sent using a tracked delivery method.
Customers in the United Kingdom: if you upgrade your delivery beyond standard delivery, you will only be refunded the cost of standard delivery and not the cost of upgraded delivery.
International customers (outside of the United Kingdom): if you receive a refund, the original cost of shipping your order to you will be deducted from your refund.
If your original order is returned to us as undeliverable having been sent to the delivery address you provided, the original cost of shipping will not be refunded and you will be liable for any return charges imposed by the delivery agent and/or the cost to redeliver your order to you.
If you choose not to have your order redelivered at your own cost, we will refund your order with the original cost of shipping your order to you deducted from your refund.
Please note that failure or refusal to pay customs or import fees due may lead to your parcel being seized and destroyed. In this instance no refund will be offered.

In the unlikely event that a product is deemed unsafe, we will notify you and provide instructions for a return, refund or replacement.
